very true. I live in Texas, is the Bible Belt, and hard-core conservative. I mentioned one day that I do not believe in God, at work, and wow, it was nonstop. Tell me, how can you believe, and you try to convert me. It is really annoying. I wish more people would be an atheist, the world would be a much better place.
I think all people want to know the truth in general, but especially the truth about life, the truth about morality. Most people want to know the truth about life after death.
